More than 8,000 files stolen from AC office in Layyah

All the stolen files are related to the Domicile branch
LAYYAH (Dunya News) – At least 8,150 files were stolen from the record room of the Assistant Commissioner (AC) office in Layyah on Sunday.
An action has been initiated against five officials including in-charge Domicile Branch Muhammad Azam, two watchmen and a deputy messenger who have also been transferred.
All the stolen files are related to Domicile branch.
The city police refused to register a case after the public servants were named in the prosecution, saying that the matter should be referred to the Punjab anti-corruption department.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner appointed GAR Saifur Rehman as the inquiry officer in the matter.
