Karachi: One killed, one injured in firing incident

Khuda Dost alias Haider was killed while Umar Zada was injured in the incident.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Man shot dead, another was injured as unknown assailants opened fire on a car in the Quaidabad area of Karachi on Friday.

The person who was shot dead is identified as Khuda Dost alias Haider while Umar Zada was injured in the incident.

According to the police officials, Khuda Dost was returning from the court when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on his car taking his life and injuring another person. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Shah Latif police station.

The police officials have briefed that there is no CCTV camera in the area but the matter is being investigated and search for culprits is underway.

It is to be noted that the killed man is a close aide of MNA Agha Rafiullah. On the other hand, Pakistan People s Party (PPP) officials from Malir district and state minister Saeed Ghani have reached hospital.

Umar Zada, who was injured in the incident, has given a statement to Dunya News.

"We were returning home from the court when a car braked in front of us making our car stop and assailants riding on two motorcycles opened fire on our vehicle. I was shot in my both legs," Umar Zada said.

Talking to Dunya News, the injured Umar Zada remembered his late friend and wished that he was not dead.

"I wish that I were dead instead of my friend Khuda Dost", Umar added.

Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani has made a statement following the incident and have said that late Khuda Dost was a worker of PPP. On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) leader Azam Swati has claimed that Haider Swati was worker of our party.
