99 rape cases surfaced in two years in Lahore: report
The victims have expressed disappointment over delay in justice despite Inspector General's vow.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – As many as 99 rape cases have been reported in two years in Lahore however, none of them reached its logical conclusion so far.
According to Daily Dunya’s investigative report, at least 13 molestation cases were filed in 2015 whereas 86 complaints were received in 2016.
During this time, the suspects who got arrested were released over money.
A woman revealed that she was gang-raped by dacoits during robbery bid. She said police lodged case after 6 months on the directives of court but nothing was done further.
The victims have expressed disappointment over delay in justice despite Inspector General’s vow whereas the locals have raised concerns over increasing number of rape cases.
The citizens have demanded the local authorities to bring the suspects involved in such crimes to justice.
