Karachi: Husband irked by domestic disputes, stabs wife to death
The culprit suspected that his wife, Samina, would leave him.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A husband, Ahmed Waqas, irked by domestic disputes at home stabbed his wife, Samina, to death Friday night in Karachi’s Korangi Number 2 area.
According to the police, the suspect was married 3 months ago. The arrested suspect stated that quarrels between him and his wife were intensifying day by day and he suspected that Samina would leave him.
Police officials have stated that the suspect is a laborer.
The incident was reported by the suspect’s father, whose statement has been penned down.
A further investigation into the matter is underway.
Meanwhile suspect Ghulam Rabbani who murdered his own mother out of anguish over an unresolved conflict related to the division of property within the family in Boat Basin area of Karachi has confessed to the crime.
The suspect will be presented in the court today for remand.
According to the investigation officer, the suspect voluntarily gave himself up for arrest while the instrument used for the killing has also been recovered.
Suspect Rabbani stated that he took the extreme step after he was fed up with the daily disputes. He stated that he did not feel any remorse for his actions.
According to the police, the suspect’s brother took the dead body of their mother Naseem Akhtar to Punjab where was laid to rest in Lala Musa.
Rabbani served as senior director of finance in State Bank; his father had passed away recently. According to the Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP) Tariq Nawaz, the perpetrator had divorced his wife the previous night.
