Bangladesh's Tamim undergoes angioplasty after 'on-field' heart attack

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal had to undergo emergency angioplasty after a heart attack during a cricket match in Dhaka on Monday.
Tamim was fielding in a match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club at the BKSP-3 ground in Savar area of capital Dhaka.
According to media reports, Tamim, who was captaining Mohammedan, felt severe pain in the chest. He left the field and had to rush to a nearby hospital. The doctors conducted various tests and it was confirmed there was a blockage in the heart.
According to a hospital report, doctors did an angiogram and angioplasty and removed the blockage. The medical procedure went smoothly and he is currently under observation.
