Blind Cricket World Cup: Pak to play India in final match

Pakistan has beaten Sri Lanka by 156 runs in Ajman of UAE.

(Web Desk) – Pakistan has beaten Sri Lanka on Wednesday in second semi-final in Ajman of United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 156 runs to reach the final match of fifth Blind Cricket World Cup.

Blind Cricket World Cup kicked off earlier this month with a grand opening ceremony held in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and is scheduled to conclude on January 19.

Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Australia are participating in the tournament. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to reschedule the tournament after India pulled out as authorities failed to give clearance to the team to visit arch-rival Pakistan.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to field first against Pakistan.

Pakistan accumulated the immense total of 489 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 40 overs. Muhammad Rashid who joined Pakistan team only a day ago due to delay in visa issuance scored brilliant century, he made 139 runs. Nisar Ali played superb innings; he missed the ton with mere 1 run, he got out on 99 runs. Badar Munir made effortless 72 runs. C.K. Suriyarachi took 2 wickets for 81 runs.

Sri Lanka in reply made 333 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 40 overs. Chandana Deshapriya scored unbeaten 100 runs off 80 balls. K.A Silva made 36 runs. Badar Munir took 2 wickets for 55 runs.

On the other hand, India is playing Bangladesh in the first semi-final today in Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Defending champions India had earlier beaten Pakistan by seven wickets at Ajman Oval Cricket Ground.

On Sunday, Pakistan thrashed Australia in record victory by putting together 563-4 in 40 overs. Australia were beaten by 393 runs as Aussies were dismissed at 170 runs.
