All the players including the supplementary category players sold out in Pakistan Super League

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – All players in all the categories including the supplementary category were on Tuesday sold out in Pakistan Super League (PSL), reported Dunya News.

The drafting process completed at National Cricket Academy (NCA) today. Each team bought 5 players in Silver category, 2 in Emerging category and 4 in Supplementary category.

Islamabad United:

Islamabad’s silver category includes Babar Azam, Imran Khalid, Kamran Ghulam, Umar Amin and Azhar Ali. The Emerging category includes Romaan Raees and Imad Butt while the Supplementary category includes Ashar Zaidi, Saeed Ajmal, Hussain Talat and Umar Siddique.

Karachi Kings:

Karachi selected Iftikhar Ahmad, Nauman Anwar, Mushfiq Raheem, Usama Mir and Suhail Khan. Mir Hamza and Saif Ullah Bangash were included in the Emerging category while three players were selected for the Supplementary category in accordance with the budget. These three players are Tilikaratne Dilshan, Shahzeb Hassan and Fawad Alam.

Peshawar Zalmi:

Peshawar team’s Silver category comprises of Amir Yamin, Dawid Malan, Imran Khan Jr., Shahid Yousaf and Abdul Rehman. Their Emerging category includes Musaddaq Ahmad Ali and Hassan Ali while the Supplementary category includes Muhammad Asghar, Brad Hogg, Israr Ullah and Taj Wali.

Quetta Gladiators:

Quetta team’s Silver category includes Bilal Asif, Asad Shafiq, Muhammad Nawaz, Saad Nasim and Muhammad Nabi. Emerging category includes Akbar ur-Rehman and Bismillah Khan while the Supplementary category comprises of Kumar Sangakara, Aizaz Cheema and Ramiz Raja Jr.

Lahore Qalandars:

Lahore team’s Silver category was adorned by Zafar Gohar, Hammad Azam, Zia ul-Haque, Zohaib Khan and national One-Day International (ODI) team captain Azhar Ali. Lahore’s Emerging category includes Naveed Yasin  and Adnan Rasool while the Supplementary category includes Abdul Razzaq, Mukhtar Ahmed, Ehsan Adil and Imran Butt.

All the teams had bought 9 players each for the Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories on the first day of drafting.

The selected players have been divided into five different categories – Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging while Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will stage the first edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) between February 4 to 23.

Talking at the ceremony, the talented coaching panel expressed their happiness and wished all the teams for the better performance in PSL.

On the other hand, Sri Lankan pacer and T20 skipper Lasith Malinga has pulled out of his contract with PSL, deciding to take time away to prepare for the upcoming World Twenty20.

Sharjah and Dubai will host PSL matches, designed along the lines of lucrative leagues in India and Australia.
