We don't believe we can get any justice from this tribunal, says Badar Alam

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The lawyer of suspended cricketer Khalid Latif has accused Pakistan Cricket Board s Anti-Corruption tribunal of showing biased attitude in their ongoing probe into the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal.

Earlier, while responding to Khalid Latif’s boycott of tribunal’s hearing, PCB s legal advisor Taffazzul Rizvi cleared out that Khalid s lawyers are trying to escape from the matter, however the tribunal has the authority to continue proceedings even if the other party refuses to appear in the trial.

In response, Khalid Latif’s lawyer Badar Alam revealed that he doesn t feel he and his client would get any justice owing to the tribunal members  past affiliation with the board.

"We don t believe we can get any justice from this tribunal. Trial without our participation proves our reservations. How can you expect to have a fair trial when all the member of the tribunal served the cricket board in some capacity in the past?," Badar expressed while talking to a private news agency.

Badar went on to say that PCB should instead release the trial video, which the Latif s lawyer claims that the cricket board won’t release because they have already decided to punish the player.

Earlier, Khalid Latif had boycotted the proceedings of PSL spot fixing hearing after the tribunal didn’t give him a copy of his recorded interview.
