LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s highest Test run-scorer Younis Khan has said that it would be an honor for him to serve country’s cricket, and he can do anything for it.
The former captain spoke to Dunya News program Yeh Hai Cricket Dewangi and said if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) needs his services, he will gladly accept the offer.
Younis Khan told that he wants to give some time to his family after retirement, and can also step into coaching to serve the sport.
The veteran batsman further added that he saw many ups and downs in his career, but he feels proud when people now say that he has left cricket early.
Younis Khan declared 10,000 Test runs milestone more important for nation than for himself. Apart from this achievement, Younis continued, the happiest moment of his career was when Pakistan won the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup under his leadership.
The legendary batsman also congratulated Pakistan’s most successful Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq on his wonderful career, and said he also ended it at a very good point.
On a question regarding match-fixing, Younis Khan remarked solid planning is required to eradicate this evil. He also laid stress on bringing reforms in PCB as well.
