Nasir Jamshed surpassed every limit of incompetence by his worst cricket performance in World Cup.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistani cricket has seen various maggi legends, history makers, icons but Nasir Jamshed has surpassed every limit of incompetence by his worst cricket performance in World Cup 2015. Title maagi legend would not be inappropriate for him if we look at his performance in his recent matches.
Nasir Jamshed made his debut in 2008, since then he has struggled for his place in the team. In Asia Cup 2012, Jamshed made his place permanent in the team due to his outstanding performance. He also scored three consecutive centuries against India. Jamshed’s performance graph went down in the end of 2013. Jamshed s luck remained the same in calendar year 2014 as he played only two international matches.
Behind every successful man, there is a woman. Nasir Jamshed won’t agree with this quote because his luck has not changed even after his marriage. He has become the laughing stock in the cricketing community ever since he replaced season all-rounder Muhammad Hafeez in the World Cup squad.
Nasir Jamshed has disappointed the nation by his poor performance in all the three matches that he played in the world cup. He has performed ghastly not even with the bat but in the field also. His fielding has cost Pakistan dearly.
In his first match against West Indies, he fielded in the ground just for 29 balls. In these 29 balls he dropped a sitter of one of West Indies opener. Later while batting he faced just 2 deliveries and scored a duck.
Selectors gave him another chance in the match against weaker side Zimbabwe but it seems like our maggi legend felt insulted to go against the weaker side and threw his wicket away few minutes into the game. Moreover, he dropped an easy catch in the ending stage of the game.
After the disappointing performance in two matches, the nation wanted to see Nasir Jamshed out of the ground but management gave him another chance to play against UAE and he failed again.
The cricket lovers wants the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to drop Jamshed and bring back Sarfaraz Ahmed so that we have a better opener batsman and a specialist wicket-keeper.
