The cement exports have registered an increase of 8 percent.
The trend is partly set by the demand of cement worldwide due to a spur in construction activities. The sale of cement to India has increased by 50 percent.The statistics show that 7,500 MT cement has been sold in the first quarter of the current fiscal; up 573 tons from the corresponding period last fiscal.The local consumption increased by 12 percent and reached 5,100MT, while the export increased to 2,300MT. The export to Afghanistan also increased by 30 percent.
