Pak-Afghan Transit Trade: Pact comes into force today

Pak-Afghan Transit Trade agreement will come into force tomorrow. The purpose of agreement is to control smuggling on Pak-Afghan trade route. A tracking system will be installed to control smuggling.

Federal Commerce secretary Zafar Mehmood said that the Pak-Afghan transit trade pact will come into force tomorrow.He was addressing to a 2-days meeting of Pak-Afghan Coordination Authority.Later, talking to the media, Zafar said that the pact was signed regarding the issue of smuggling control on Pak-Afghan trade route.He said that a tracking system will be installed to control smuggling between both the countries whereas.The commerce secretary further informed that Interior and Finance Ministries and FBR will jointly work to implement the agreement.From Afghan side, a delegation headed by deputy minister for commerce Muhammad Sharif Sharifi attended the meeting.
