Summary Iran warns it may exit ceasefire if Israel continues Lebanon strikes, as rising tensions threaten fragile US-Iran truce.
TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Iran has issued a warning over ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, stating it could withdraw from the recently agreed ceasefire if the attacks continue.
According to Iranian media, Iran’s envoy to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said that continued Israeli strikes on Lebanon would force Tehran to reconsider its commitment to the truce. He warned that if Israel does not halt its bombardment, it could face serious consequences in the coming days.
The warning comes amid a temporary two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, which Tehran has described as a “victory,” while the United States and Israel have welcomed the development. The agreement includes provisions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and halting attacks on Iran.
Meanwhile, Israel carried out intense airstrikes on multiple areas in Lebanon, including Beirut, resulting in dozens of casualties, further escalating tensions in the region.
