BBC News treats viewers with soft jazz as system crashes

(Web Desk) - Viewers of BBC ONE news at 10 were left puzzled as the transmission was interrupted for a whole four minutes as news presenter Huw Edwards was seen scribbling on a piece of paper and occasionally twiddling his thumbs waiting for it to be all over soon.

The incident that had occurred due to some technical malfunction left viewers bemused with jazz music. The glitch stirred the social media with viewers taking to microblogging website, Twitter to not just express concern over the technical malfunction but also to crack jokes.



While many twitter followers speculated on whether it was the end of the nigh, others praised Edwards for his professionalism with some making witty remarks on the presenter’s continuous scribbling.



Paul Royall, a BBC Editor, tweeted to clarify the case explaining that there was a system crash seconds before they were due to go on air. Royall further added that the the backup system had been quickly deployed.



While the news resumed at 10:04pm, Edwards followed the resumption of the transmission with a quick apology putting all Twitter speculations to rest.
