Summary India takes help from America and Singapore to fight the deadly smog in its capital New Delhi

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – A new experiment will be done in Indian capital New Delhi which will use old jet engines to clean up the dense smog in the city. The new technology is expected to be installed with the cooperation of America and Singapore, reported Dunya News.

According to the reports, a retired jet engine will be placed in one of the power houses that uses coal in combustion. The exhaust nozzle of the machine will be pointed towards sky while the engine will be placed near the smoke emitter before turning it on.

A big thrust will be given to the smoke exhaust allowing the retired jet engine to generate a nozzle speed that is similar to the speed of sound (400 meters per second). This will allow the power house emission to be delivered at higher altitudes, thus, cleaning the air on ground.

In fact, the old jet engines will work as chimneys by evacuating the smoke from fog which sums up into smog. In India and countries alike, the main cause of smog is the smoke released from coal powered power plants. This is why the smoke emission from plants and factories needs to be managed in order to clean up the cities and fight air pollution.
