The UN Security Council failed to finalize over a draft resolution proposing further sanctions against Iran.The meeting of the members lasted over an hour but failed to draw any conclusions. The members of the council would meet again today. The solution proposed by Turkey and Brazil would also be reviewed during the meeting today. Lebanon, Turkey and Brazil opposed the previous draft. The draft resolution would both build on existing UN sanctions on Iran and expand the breadth and reach of UN sanctions on Iran by creating new categories of sanctions. US believes that it could gain the support of the required number of members.
