AcryPhone: A slab-shaped phone to beat smartphone habit

(Web Desk) – A phone named “acry-phone” was introduced by a Japanese company eKod Works to reduce the addiction to smartphones.

People try to limit the use of cell phone usage but at the same time, one craves getting a sneak peek at it to satisfy those dopamine cravings.

Although a Japanese company recently launched an acrylic smartphone that does nothing other than feel like a handheld smartphone, without all the features or basically any use.

Made by eKod Works, the company that brought the “ample bosom T-shirt” a few years back. The AcryPhone is a piece of acrylic with no real screen, speakers, or even a flashlight but just a brick-like thing that only stays in your palm so one can feel like holding a smartphone to keep the bran distracted.

It has two models, a plain acrylic brick which is a bit cheaper costing $25, and the other one which looks more realistic and has a camera-shaped space and a glass protector although has no screen, priced at $26.5.

With measurements of 146mm x 71mm, it is compatible with all phone cases, even the lens cover which makes it look more real.
Preorders have started on eKod’s official website and will be available online soon.
