Users sing to the app, named FreddieMeter, with a choice of four Queen songs and the app analyses the pitch, timbre, and melody to give a score of 0 to 100.

The technology is a collaboration between three departments of the tech giant and Queen, Universal Music Group and Hollywood Records.

The release was in support of Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity that helps support projects worldwide in the fight against HIV and AIDS, founded by Queen bandmates Brian May, Roger Taylor and Jim Beach.
