(Web Desk) – A test area for driverless cars has been put to use in Beijing.
"The pilot garden for intelligent connected vehicles" will be a testing field for Beijing’s self-driving vehicles.
The garden covers an area of 8.63 square kilometers. It aims to push the development of high-end and advanced industries and help with the building of a "smart city."
Testing for situations such as driverless delivery and driverless patrolling has been ongoing in the test area.
Starting from this year, the test area will focus on intelligent vehicles connected by 5G technology, according to the test area’s management.
