RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug 12, 2016 (AFP) - German second seed Angelique Kerber and Puerto Rico s Monica Puig will meet for the gold medal in women s tennis singles at the Rio Olympics.
Australian Open champion Kerber beat Madison Keys, the US seventh seed, 6-3, 7-5 in her semi-final.
The 22-year-old unseeded Puig, who will be bidding to win Puerto Rico s first Olympic Games gold medal, defeated two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
