Summary Sweepers went on strike as they have not been paid remuneration by the contractor for many months.
They also demanded that contract system should be ended once for all.A large number of sweepers gathered in front of the hospital compound and shouted slogans against the contractor who has been exploiting them for many months.The protestors complained that whenever they demand their salaries the contractor not only uses abusive language but also threatens to terminate them for their jobs.The staff has demanded of the Punjab CM to abolish the contract system in Jinnah Hospital, with the emphasis that the system should be run by the hospital officials.
