QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Government of Balochistan has made tenant registration mandatory as part of new security measures across the province.
Under the new directive, landlords are prohibited from renting out properties without verifying tenants’ national identity cards. They have also been instructed to submit tenant records to the nearest police station.
Authorities have further made it compulsory to report any guest staying for more than 24 hours. Hostels and hotels have been directed to maintain complete records of occupants.
The provincial government warned that strict legal action will be taken under the security act in case of violations, including registration of cases, arrests, and sealing of properties.
Officials stated that unregistered individuals could potentially be involved in criminal activities, emphasizing that the move aims to improve law and order.
The government has urged citizens to ensure proper registration of tenants as part of broader efforts to strengthen security across the province.
