ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar has arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the 21st Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) being held today (Monday) at the OIC Secretariat in Jeddah.

Dar was received at the King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah by the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to OIC, Ambassador Fawad Sher, Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, and Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Khalid Majid.

The Extraordinary Session will bring together foreign ministers and senior officials from the OIC member states to deliberate on coordinated responses to the escalating developments in Palestine, arising from the ongoing Israeli military aggression, proposed plans for full military control over Gaza, and the continuing egregious violations of Palestinian rights.

As a steadfast advocate for the Palestinian cause, Pakistan consistently highlights the issue at the international fora. During the forthcoming Extraordinary OIC-Council of Foreign Ministers session, Ishaq Dar will reaffirm Pakistan's unwavering support for Palestine and reiterate its principled stance.

The Deputy Prime Minister will advocate for total withdrawal of Israel from all the occupied Palestinian territories, reject the outrageous Israeli plan for extending full military control over Gaza and further displacement of Palestinians.

He will also emphasise the urgent need of unhindered humanitarian assistance and call for the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, most notably, the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital.
