LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has declined to hear PTI leader Zartaj Gul’s appeals against her convictions in three May 9 cases until she surrenders to authorities, ordering her to appear before the court.

During a hearing on the appeals, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, who was heading a two-member bench, upheld the registrar’s office objection, remarking that Gul must first be produced before her appeals can be considered.

The registrar’s office had earlier noted that as a convicted individual, Gul must surrender before her appeals are admissible.

Gul, through senior lawyers Mian Muhammad Hussain Chotia and Barrister Ali Zafar, has filed three separate appeals challenging the Anti-Terrorism Court Faisalabad’s verdicts, which sentenced her to 10 years in prison in each of the three separate cases related to the May 9 incidents.

Earlier, the Peshawar High Court granted protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zartaj Gul until August 11, allowing her time to appeal her conviction in the Lahore High Court.
