Pakistan
The petition pointed out that his complete medical history is available with Shaukat Khanum Hospital
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking a medical examination for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The petition, filed on behalf of both Imran Khan and Gandapur, named the Punjab government, Inspector General of Prisons, prison hospital, and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital as respondents.
It stated that the 72-year-old PTI founder required routine medical check-ups, noting that his weight has decreased during incarceration and that he may be at risk of various health issues. The petition pointed out that his complete medical history is available with Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
The plea requested that a Shaukat Khanum medical team be permitted to conduct monthly examinations and necessary tests, granting access to Dr. Asim Yusuf, Dr. Faisal Sultan, and Dr. Samina Niazi for this purpose.
It further seeks court orders for monthly medical reports and test results to be submitted to the court and provided to Khan’s family.
