Maulana Fazlur Rehman already in Lahore, expected to meet Bilawal
LAHORE (Dunya News) – President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are set to arrive in Lahore to attend a high-profile political engagement.
Sources confirmed that Zardari and Bilawal will attend a dinner hosted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Moreover, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has already reached Lahore. He is also expected to join Bilawal in consulting with Nawaz Sharif on matters related to the much-awaited constitutional amendment.
Bilawal Bhutto said that despite having a two-thirds majority the government desired to complete the consultation with all the political parties to pass the constitutional amendment.
Bilawal Bhutto, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan have already attended sittings on the amendment.
Bilawal had earlier informed that the government presented its proposals. He further said that the PPP has already shared its draft with all political parties, except the government. He highlighted the need for consensus, with opposition leaders, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, expressing willingness to collaborate on an agreeable draft.
