RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - The hearing of the 190 million pound reference without proceedings has been adjourned until June 4 due to the absence of lawyers in court.

During the hearing, Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, appeared before the court. Both said their lawyers couldn’t appear in court as cases of terrorism were registered against them in Islamabad.

The court inquired why the lawyers who filed the petition on behalf of Imran Khan haven't appeared.

Imran Khan replied that the lawyers, who were supposed to defend this reference, had been accused of terrorism.

Owing to the unavailability of PTI lawyers in the hearing, the prosecution's nine witnesses couldn’t be cross-examined.

Barrister Salman Safdar, representing the accused, appeared before the court. The petition was filed by PTI lawyers Azhar Saddique, Shoaib Shaheen, and others in court.

The petition contended that the counsel, Usman Gull, who had to cross-examine and defend the 190 million pound reference, had been named in the terrorism case.

The court adjourned the case hearing without proceeding until June 4.
