LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chaotic situation comes to end after the PPP and PML-N have reached a consensus to form a unity government.

Post-election scenario with poll rigging allegations had created chaotic situation in the country.

People had great expectations with the elections, but the split mandate had polarized them. No one was in a position to predict who will make the government?

None of the party had a simple majority to form the government independently. The significance of election was diminishing in the eyes of the voters with the split mandate.

Now with the announcement of a coalition government by the PPP, PML-N , MQMP and PML-Q, people have heaved a sigh of relief from confusion and controversy prevalent in society after the elections.

Delay in reaching a deal to set up a government was badly damaging the already meltdown economy, with depreciation of rupee and stock exchange index.

Experts were showing concern that the procrastination in the formation of a government may affect incoming deal with IMF. But now it is hoped that the power-sharing deal will help revive economy and bring political stability in country.

The PPP and PML-N leadership in joint statement pledged to work together for the betterment of the country.

They agreed to a power-sharing formula pertaining to the positions of senate chairman, deputy chairman, NA speaker, deputy speaker and governors of Punjab, KP, Sindh and Balochistan.

According to the power-sharing pact, Shehbaz Sharif will be the joint candidate for the slot of prime minister whereas Asif Ali Zardari will be the joint candidate for position of president of Pakistan.

According to the pact, senate chairman, NA deputy speaker, Punjab and KP governors will be from the PPP, whereas NA speaker, Sindh and Balochistan governors will be from PML-N.

PPP will not be the part of cabinet of the federal government. In Balochistan, there will also be an allied government of PPP, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and PML-N.

PPP will have the CM slot whereas Balochistan speaker will be from BAP, and the governor will be from PML-N.
