Time for parliament to exercise its constitutional powers: Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Assembly passed a resolution condemning the May 9 tragedy on Monday.
During the session of the National Assembly presided over by Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, the disgruntled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Wajiha Qamar, presented a resolution against the miscreants of PTI who attacked government buildings after the arrest of ousted prime minister Imran Khan.
Raja Riaz, the opposition leader of the National Assembly, while expressing his views, fired a fresh salvo at Mr Khan, saying, "What Imran Khan has done in the last week, even the enemies of the country have not done it. In the 75-year history of the country, there is no example of the behaviour of the PTI miscreants. "

The opposition leader had demanded that a case be registered against Mr Khan under the Army Act. "Imran Khan has conspired against the army. Imran Khan should be publicly hanged," he added.
"The miscreants have set fire to the Corps Commander's house. Even, India has not been able to attack our planes until today. But anti-nationals and traitors have set fire to the country's planes. They even set fire to the radio station in Peshawar," Mr Riaz lamented.
"Imran Khan [Ladla] was taken to the guest house with great respect," he said, mocking Mr Khan.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed, "A group of judges is not making decisions but is involved in politics. The traditions and boundaries of the judiciary are being damaged. The 4-3 decision is overturned".
"It is time for parliament to exercise its constitutional powers. A committee should be set up to review the 400,000 pending cases," he maintained.
