PPP expressed regret over the PDM chief's stance
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday opposed the National Grand Dialogue, leading to reservations from the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
According to sources, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the National Grand Dialogue was unnecessary.
However, PPP expressed regret over the PDM chief's stance, saying that they had serious reservations about Maulana's strict position on the matter.
The PPP delegation also informed the party leadership about the issue.
PPP's leadership was of the position that the party would not back down from the National Grand Dialogue, as they believed it was the only way to get the country out of the political quagmire.
In light of the current political situation, the PPP believes that the National Grand Dialogue is inevitable.
PPP sources further stated that political rivals today could be allies tomorrow, and elections could not be avoided forever.
There was also significant flexibility in the attitude of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on the issue of negotiations.
