List of NAB amendments beneficiaries presented in SC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday submitted a list containing names of persons who benefitted from amendments to the NAB law to the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP).
The list reported Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, former president Asif Ali Zardari, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Speaker Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan, former premier Yusuf Raza Gillani, Mr Zardari’s close aide Anwar Majeed, former MNA Farzana Raja, former PM Shaukat Aziz, Zafar Gondal, former Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, former Senator Lashkari Raisani, former provincial minister Asfand Yar Khan Kakar, former MNA Arbab Alamgir, Asima Arbab Alamgir, and former provincial minister Sher Azam Khan, amid others as the beneficiaries.

Earlier, the apex court had sought the complete record of all the NAB cases discarded after the amendments to the anti-corruption watchdog’s law. The court had ordered a detailed report when NAB was pleading before the court to cancel the bail of the accused in the corruption case. Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial said the court had yet to decide NAB’s amendments as they were challenged.
