Summary India's former spymaster for Pakistan-India dialogue

NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – Former Research and Analysis Wing spy chief A.S. Dulat advised the Indian government on Sunday to start dialogue with Pakistan and China for finding solutions to various problems that were creating trouble in South Asia.

He also said the abolition of the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that deprived the Jammu and Kashmir of its special status was uncalled for and it was only an effort to hide the errors of the government. He was of the view that for the eradication of terrorism, India needed to have talks with Pakistan and the matter must be handled by doing dialogues.

Mr Dulat till now is the only RAW chief to have visited Pakistan and that too four times. He also talked fondly about Asad Durrani, his counterpart and former director general of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Their equation took the shape of the 2018 book, The Spy Chronicles: RAW, ISI and the Illusion of Peace.
