‘Summary to dissolve KP assembly will be sent two days later’

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government spokesperson Barrister Ali Saif said on Thursday that KP Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan would send the summary to dissolve the KP assembly to KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali two days later.

The opposition in the KP assembly had submitted a requisition in the assembly which impedes the dissolution at the earliest. Legal experts said the assembly could not be dissolved after the submission of the requisition.

Meanwhile, the PTI chief Imran Khan has summoned a session of the party leadership to deliberate on the matter of dissolving KP assembly at his residence in Lahore.

Earlier, Punjab CM Parvez Elahi advised the Punjab governor to dissolve the Punjab Assembly thus raising the political temperature high and calls for the KP assembly dissolution.

The decision to dissolve the assembly had been taken in a meeting between the chief minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan held at Zaman Park, where senior party leaders were also present.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the Punjab CM has signed the summary asking the Governor to dissolve provincial assembly.

The PTI leader said that the advice has been sent to the Punjab Governor. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly will also be dissolved with the Punjab Assembly.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan had completed consultation with the party leadership and the Punjab Assembly and decided to dissolve Punjab Assembly.

Sources privy to the development said the PTI leadership had rejected the suggestion to delay dissolution of the provincial assembly till February and instead the assembly could be dissolved tonight.
