PPP decides to increase contacts with Hamza instead of Maryam Nawaz
Bilawal is likely to make contact with Hamza soon.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a change of strategy, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to increase contacts with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Hamza Shehbaz instead of Maryam Nawaz, sources said on Monday.
According to sources, PPP considers Hamza Shehbaz’s approach moderate and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to make contact with him soon.
Sources further claimed that PPP might suggest replacing Maryam Nawaz by Hamza Shehbaz in Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) steering committee.
Bilawal has earlier said that Hamza Shehbaz has a right over Punjab and PPP thinks that it is difficult to work with harsh narrative of Maryam Nawaz and it will give its suggestions in next meeting of the opposition alliance, sources added.
Earlier on last Saturday, while talking to media person in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz had termed the narrative of ‘Ek Zardari sub pay bhari’ shameful and said that causing damage to democratic struggle just to get a minor, inconsequential position in Senate is unfortunate, On one side there are those who are sacrificing their own wellbeing for the public and its right to rule, while on the other side are those who have sacrificed all their principles and narrative for a minor position.
"I am glad that this line has been drawn and that everyone recognizes who is standing where," she said.
Maryam Nawaz said “If you really wanted this meaningless and inconsequential post, you should have asked Nawaz Sharif for it. It’s not like we could have formed a government with it even if the PML-N got the post”, she said.
The PML-N leader said that it was first time in her life that the Opposition Leader was elected with support of government members.
