Seems like opposition members maliciously wasted seven votes: Muzaffar Hussain Shah
He said instead of the box, stamp has actually been affixed on the name of Yousuf Raza Gilani
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Presiding officer for Senate Chairman to elect the chairman and deputy chairman Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah on Friday said that it seems that the supporters of the opposition have maliciously wasted seven votes.
Speaking exclusively with Dunya News after Senate election, he made it clear that according to the law, the place in front of the candidate has to be stamped.
“Instead of the box, the stamp has actually been affixed on the name of Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, and they are rejected,” said Shah.
The presiding officer said that what else the opposition can say after losing, adding that they [opposition] did not object to the action we took all day.
Shah went on to say that the opposition can knock the court’s door if they think that the verdict is not in their favor, adding that the President appointed him under the Constitution.
He said from the time of former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan till date only one member has been appointed as Presiding Officer by the President.
