PTI has nominated PML-N senator for deputy chairman, claims Maryam Nawaz
LAHORE (Dunya News) - PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has claimed that PTI’s candidate for the post of Deputy Chairman Senate is a PML-N senator.
Maryam Nawaz hurled criticism at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership in a tweet on Thursday, asking what political status will a political party have which could not even nominate a member of its party as Chairman Senate, and has to bow down to the establishment to get its candidate elected.
She further wrote in her tweet that PTI was so obsessed with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that it fielded a PML-N Senator for Deputy Chairmanship.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated Senator Mirza Mohammad Afridi for slot of Deputy Chairman Senate.
Information Minister Shibli Faraz, in a tweet, said that the nomination of Mirza Afridi gives representation to erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
