17 govt MNAs voted against Hafeez Shaikh: PDM
PDM leaders demanded resignation of PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition leaders on Thursday said that government is in panic after previous day’s defeat and claimed that 17 lawmakers of the ruling alliance voted against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Hafeez Shaikh.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, while talking to media persons along with other opposition leaders, said that Prime Minister Imran Khan personally led the campaign of the government candidate and promised schemes worth billions of rupees to lawmakers.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that government suffered a historic defeat in Senate elections and now it is resorting to different tactics to hide its embarrassment.
He also urged government to resign in a respectful manner and while referring to a statement of PM Imran, said that if the premier does not want to run the government like rats, than he should resign like a lion.
While criticizing government policies, Raja Pervaiz said that nation has not witnessed such levels of inflation in its history and demanded resignation of PM Imran Khan after a humiliating defeat in Senate elections.
He further said that victory of Yousaf Raza Gilani is a proof that government has failed and now new elections should be held.
