PM Imran, Punjab CM discuss overall situation in the province

The PM said that hoarding and profiteering of daily use items will not be tolerated at any cost.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore on Tuesday.

During the meeting, they discussed overall situation in the province and other matters of mutual interest.

Chief Secretary Jawad Rafiq Malik and IG Police Inam Ghani also met the Prime Minister.

Speaking on occasion, the Prime Minister said that hoarding and profiteering of daily use items will not be tolerated at any cost.

Earlier, PM Imran Khan arrived in Lahore, where he will chair meetings on development projects and prices of commodities.

Federal Ministers Shibli Faraz and Syed Fakhr Imam, Adviser Shehzad Akbar and Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority Lt Gen (r) Anwar Ali Haider accompanied the prime minister.

He will chair a meeting on the progress of the Ravi Urban Development Project.

He will also chair a high-level meeting on prices and availability of essential prices.

Earlier today, in order to control rising inflation in the country, Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered strict action against hoarders and profiteers.

PM Imran Khan said that situation will improve significantly if government is successful in controlling hoarding in the country.

Tiger Force has also been granted its first task to discourage hoarding and profiteering. The pilot project will be launched in Islamabad and initially about 9,000 shops will be monitored.

Tiger Force will work along with Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner. Volunteers of Tiger Force will point out shops that have not displayed rate lists or are involved in overcharging.

District Administration will immediately take action on identification of Tiger Force and a heavy fines will be imposed on shops if they are found involved in the practice.
