Protest against mysterious killing of 11 Pakistani Hindus in India continues
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Members of the Hindu community from across Pakistan, in protest against the mysterious killing of 11 Pakistani Hindus in the Indian city of Jodhpur, have staged a sit-in in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
A convoy of members of the Hindu community from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and different parts of the country, led by National Assembly member and patron of the Pakistan Hindu Council, Ramesh Kumar, arrived in Islamabad last night.
The sit-in participants chanted slogans against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. They called on the Indian government to conduct a transparent investigation into the tragic incident, also appealing to the international community to give them justice.
Talking to reporters on the occasion, Dr Ramesh Kumar said that the peaceful protest by the Hindu community would continue till their demand of a transparent investigation into the killings in Jodhpur is met.
He asked the Indian government to share all the details and investigative reports with the Hindu community and Pakistan. He said that every Pakistani, especially Hindus, want peaceful relations to promote trade and tourism.
Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had also joined the sit-in to express solidarity with the participants.
Talking to reporters on the occasion, he said that the government fully supports the demands of the Pakistani Hindu community for a transparent investigation into the Jodhpur incident.
