Price of naan, roti increased in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Muttahida Naan Roti Association (MNRA) has increased the price of Roti by Rs 2 and Naan by Rs 3.

The MNRA has increased the price of Roti by Rs 2 to Rs 8 while the Naan has been increased by Rs 3 to Rs 15.

On the other hand, the citizens have strongly reacted to the self-increased prices of Naan and Roti by the MNRA, saying that the poor will starve to death by the increased prices of Nan and Roti.

Muhammad Aftab Aslam Gul, President of MNRA has said that the price of wheat had gone up from Rs. 1400 to Rs. 1800 per 40kg and the price of a bag of fine flour had increased from Rs. 3900 to Rs. 4500. A 20kg bag of flour costs Rs 1050 instead of Rs 805, how Naan and Roti could be sold cheap, he questioned.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore Danish Afzal said that no notification has been issued to increase the prices of Naan or Roti.

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the unilateral price increase by MNRA and ordered administration and price control committee to take immediate action.

CM Buzdar said that the price increase was unacceptable and those responsible for the unjust price increase will be held accountable according to the law.
