Opposition parties not sincere with Pakistan, masses: Shibli Faraz
He said Imran Khan was saviour of the country under whose leadership Pakistan would make progress
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Syed Shibli Faraz on Friday said that the opposition parties are not sincere with country and the public.
Addressing a news conference along with Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar and Minister for Communications Murad Saeed in Islamabad today (Sunday), he said that opposition leaders, in their tenures looted the national exchequer ruthlessly and made properties worth billions of rupees abroad promoting their own business.
He said the press conference of opposition leaders was nothing but a bundle of lies, adding that PM Imran Khan s steadfastness restored the global identity of the country and nation. He said opposition has no sympathy for poor segment of the country.
Shibli remarked that when in power, leaders of the opposition parties only promoted their own businesses and purchased properties worth billions of rupees abroad by looting and plundering national resources.
Senator Shibli Faraz said it was duplicity of the highest level that those were weeping for the poor who had built properties worth billions by misusing their power.
He said PML-N was divided into many groups led by Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Shahid Khaqan but they were claiming that PTI was divided which was not the fact.
He said Imran Khan was saviour of the country under whose leadership Pakistan would make progress and the nation would prosper.
"Imran Khan with his clarity of mind and vision had restored the global image and identity of the country and the nation which was ruined by the past rulers," the minister said and added the demand for fresh elections by opposition at this critical juncture showed that they only care for personal interests, not the country.
Replying to a question, he said PTI was fully united and the budget would be passed tomorrow, adding that the former rulers had the habit of corruption and they were worried about their illegally built properties abroad. "Now Pakistan had changed and the PPP and PML-N had become part of history," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Production and Industries Hammad Azhar said that opposition has criticized the federal budget maintaining the previous tradition.
He said the government has presented a tax free and balanced budget despite financial constraints to provide relief to the public.
Hammad Azhar said to meet the challenge of global pandemic, the government ensured provision of Ehsaas Emergency cash to over 16 million deserving families across the country. He said the relief package was also announced for over 3 million businessmen to overcome their financial difficulties.
He said the criticism of opposition on increase of petroleum prices is baseless as petrol prices are still lower in Pakistan as compare to other regional countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed expressed hope that the country would move forward in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran with support of the nation. He said PTI-led government was well aware about the problems of the people and it was working on fast track to provide them all possible facilities.
He said reforms were being introduced in different departments and soon improvement would be witnessed, adding that Punjab and KP governments had provided Sehat Insaaf cards to the deserving families.
The minister said the prime minister had been saying since long that PPP and PML-N had same agendas and same motives. He raised question why the opposition was protesting that government had not imposed new taxes in the coming budget, adding that the government would provide relief to 16 million families under the Ehsaas programme.
Murad said that a comprehensive programme was being initiated for the eradicating poverty and improving health facilities and provision of Sehat health cards. He said that both PPP and PML- N parties were afraid of PTI government success. He said that instead of feeling shame, they spoke, adding that money was deposited in fake accounts in Sindh.
He said that world was moving towards smart lockdown to prevent spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the strategy adopted by Pakistan under vision of Imran Khan. He said that due to lockdown, daily wagers were badly affected and the PTI government came to their rescue by announcing a relief package. He said that on very first day Prime Minister Imran Khan said that his government would protect people from the pandemic and also poverty and hunger. He said that the prime minister had brought Kashmir issue on UNSC after 54 years and always fought Pakistan case internationally.
He said that due to visionary approach of the PM, today Pakistan was known as top tourism destination, not terrorism. He said that 200 Panagahs (Shelter homes) were established by the government to provide shelter to migrant workers and vulnerable people in the cities.
