Won't let anyone spy on judiciary and judges: Farogh Naseem

Islamabad (Dunya News) – Law Minister Farogh Naseem on Saturday said we would not let anyone spy on judiciary and judges. He said we are standing with the judiciary. He further said some lawyers are doing politics. Farogh Naseem opined I am part of bar council and have issued my opinion on matters related to attorney general of Pakistan.

Earlier,the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has called upon Prime Minister Imran Khan to expel Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem from the cabinet after former Attorney General of Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan said Naseem was aware of his comments against judges.

Bar appreciated government’s move to remove AGP from his post. On the other side, law minister Farogh Naseem said that the federal government had nothing to do with the remarks that had been made in court by the former attorney general.

Anwar Mansoor Khan was asked to resign after his controversial statement in the Supreme Court, Law Minister Farogh Naseem and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said.

On Thursday, Mr Anwar submitted his resignation to President Arif Alvi. “I note with profound regret that the Pakistan Bar Council, of which I am the Chairman, has demanded through its press release dated 19th of February 2020 that I resign forthwith from the Office of the Attorney General of Pakistan."
