PPP's Shahnaz Ansari assassinated in Naushahro Feroze

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE (Dunya News) – In an unfortunate event, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of Sindh Assembly Shahnaz Ansari was assassinated in a firing incident on Saturday.
According to Dunya News, Shahnaz Ansari suffered three fatal bullet wounds and was taken to Civil Hospital Nawabshah for medical assistance but sadly succumbed to her injuries.
Police cordoned off the village but the suspect and his accomplices successfully fled the crime scene. Investigating authorities apprised that the heinous crime was executed by a man named Waqar who is on large now.
PPP’s elected representatives and workers gathered outside the hospital as soon as they received the news. She was elected MPA twice on reserved seats for women from her hometown, Naushahro Feroze.
Sources said that Shahnaz Ansari was observing a Chehlum ceremony of her brother-in-law. Police stated that MPA’s brother-in-law had a land dispute with his family, while family sources informed that late brother-in-law Dr. Zahid Khokhar’s brothers also forbade the MPA from visiting the village.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, taking notice of the attack on MPA Shahnaz Ansari, has demanded a report from the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Naushahro Feroze. He also called for immediate arrest of the attackers involved in the murder of Shahnaz Ansari.
Leadership reacts to murder
Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the assassination of Shahnaz Ansari. Bilawal said that he was shocked to hear about the news, and demanded an investigation into the matter while also calling for the arrest of her murderers immediately. "She was party’s asset and a good worker", he added.
PPP’s leader Saeed Ghani also said that former President Asif Ali Zardari has announced a three-day mourning over the killing of MPA Shahnaz Ansari. Saeed Ghani said that a stern action will be taken against the accused after inquiry.
Spokesman of PPP Senator Maula Bakhsh Chandio condemned the murder and said that she was sincere and a brave woman. He vowed to bring murderers of MPA Shahnaz to justice.
