Lahore DC issues workers convention's permit to PPP

The permit bans hatred speech and possession of weapons in workers' convention.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore Deputy Commissioner Afzal Danish issued a permit to the Pakistan Peoples Party which allows them to hold a workers’ convention in Qasim Garden.

The permit stated that the leaders of the PPP will not be able to speak against the judiciary and religion, while the workers‘ convention will also have to ban possesion of every sort of arms.

The permit issued by Lahore DC stated that the Home Department-approved security agency can be hired for the internal security of the workers’ convention. The list of security guards and party volunteers must be provided to the special branch, read the permit.

It further stated organizers of the convention will need to install CCTV cameras on the internal and external routes. At least one internal and external route must be allocated to VVIP figures.

Afzal Danish’s issued permit read that proper spacing between the stage and the convention participants must be made. “The sound system should be installed under the Punjab Sound System Ordinance 2015 at the workers’ convention,” stated the permit.

Firefighting vehicles should be ensured in accordance with fire safety. The permit also ordered to ensure implementation of the party schedule. “All areas of the convention should be covered, while police and security agencies will ensure that all vehicles arriving at the convention are checked”, read the permit.
