China welcome 24/7 opening of Torkham border: Ambassador
Yao Jing said that the Chinese government is cooperating with the establishment of the SEZ.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing on Wednesday said that Pakistan and China are moving constantly in different sectors and Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is an important project.
The Chinese ambassador while visiting to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board expressed happiness over his visit and said that he met the CEO and discussed cooperation is different sectors.
Yao Jing said that the Chinese government is cooperating with the establishment of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ), adding that the economic zone will be an important milestone for industrial development.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has huge investment opportunities in minerals, agriculture, petroleum and other sectors, adding that there are many historical and tourist sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chinese tourists come here in large numbers.
Earlier, addressing Belt and Road Initiative CPEC Conference, the ambassador said that the conference is important for regional contacts, adding that they were happy to see the seriousness of Central Asian States. The Central Asian States will come closer through the CPEC.
Yao Jing went on to say that they were saddened by the failure of the US and Taliban talks. Peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan is very important.
The Chinese Ambassador said that his country welcomed the decision of Pakistan government for opening Pak-Afghan Torkham border by 24/7.
He said that China intended to build various facilities including cold storage, hospital and enhanced customs facilities at Torkham border.
