Lahore Nanbai Association retains previous rates of naan, roti.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore Nanbai Association has retained previous rates of naan and roti [traditional breads], Dunya News reported.
The development occurred after successful negotiations between Lahore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saleha Saeed and the Nanbai Association. The prices of naan and roti will remain Rs10 and Rs6 respectively in the provincial capital.
Saleha Saeed said all reservations of the nanbais [bakers] have been addressed, and told that the next meeting with the association is scheduled for Tuesday. Dialogues will be held regarding gas tariffs in the upcoming session, she added.
Punjab Minister for Trade and Industry Mian Aslam Iqbal had said in a statement yesterday that the government will not allow the market to increase flour prices. The rate of 20kg sack of flour will remain Rs770, he affirmed.
