Govt committed to protection of rights of media workers: Firdous

She said that a comprehensive media policy needs to be prepared

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday said that the government is committed to protection of rights of media workers.

Addressing a ceremony of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists in Islamabad on Friday, she said that a comprehensive media policy needs to be prepared, which defines a salary structure for media workers.

The special assistant expressed confidence that the government will succeed in preparing this policy in collaboration with the media organizations.

She said media owners should pay salaries to the media workers regularly.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said Prime Minister Imran Khan has restored confidence of investors and the world is now ready for economic partnership with Pakistan.

She said the Prime Minister is fully aware of people’s sufferings and the amount recovered through benami assets will be utilized for betterment of the poor under Ehsas Program.

The Special Assistant billion tree tsunami project is the most successful project of PTI government, which has been acknowledged by world institutions.
