Kartarpur Corridor: Second round of talks on July 14 at Wagah
Pakistan remains committed to expedite progress on the matter: FO
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has conveyed to India that the second meeting to discuss the draft agreement for finalizing the modalities of Kartarpur Corridor and related technical issues will be held on 14th July 2019 at Wagah.
A statement issued by Foreign Office said the Indian side has been requested to convey the composition of its delegation.
Pakistan remains committed to expedite progress on the matter to ensure that the Corridor is operationalized in time for the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak in November 2019, statement added.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan constituted a 10-member Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) to facilitate Sikh pilgrims after the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor.
Former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that the corridor shall open for Sikh pilgrims to travel to the Kartarpur shrine by November.
