ECP orders to bar implementation of Insaf Rozgar Scheme in KP

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday ordered to stop implementation of Insaf Rozgar Scheme in Khyber Paktunkhwa.

Issuing directions, the ECP directed the Chief Secretary and Secretary Finance to freeze funds of the project and summoned a report till June 25.

The ECP further said that the announcement of projects in tribal areas is a violation of code of conduct.

It is pertinent here to mention that the KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had distributed documents of interest-free loans among the youth in tribal districts under which loans worth Rs50,000 to Rs1 million would be given to men and women of the tribal areas.

Under the Insaf Rozgar Scheme, around 5500 people had to be given loans in the initial phase, while more than 2000 applications had been received in this regard.
