ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared the details of the assets of 81 political parties, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the richest, reported Dunya News on Tuesday.
According to the ECP documents, PTI owns assets worth Rs31.66 crore out of which Rs22 crore were increased within one year. PTI Chairman and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has submitted a certificate in the ECP claiming that his party has not received any funding from prohibited sources.
The details further reveal that PTI received over Rs6.58 crore from overseas Pakistanis. Rs1.26 crore were collected from Pakistanis residing in the United States, and over Rs4.92 crore from England. The party declared six bank accounts before the ECP.
The net worth of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) assets is Rs25.33 crore and Rs2 crore were added in one year. PML-N distributed its party tickets worth Rs11.97 crore.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) owns bank balance of over Rs16.70 crore, and received Rs9.37 crore for party tickets.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) owns Rs10.63 crore and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) over Rs4.99 crore. Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) received funds of Rs1.75 crore and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) collected charity of five million rupees.
Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed’s Awami Muslim League (AML) is one the poorest political parties owning just Rs1.38 lac.
